See the "Game of Thrones" Actresses 10 Years Later

Game of Thrones was one of the most successful series in history and launched several of its actresses to stardom.

Can you believe 10 years have passed since the first episode of Game of Thrones aired? Now, the big news is that HBO, the channel responsible for the series, has officially confirmed that it is working on a show called House of the Dragon, which takes place years before the original plot and focuses on the Targaryen family.

The estimate is that the new show, which will also be based on the work of George RR Martin and his book Fire & Blood, will arrive on digital platforms only in 2022.

And while we are all looking forward to the new series, we also remember the original hit series and its binge-worthy appeal. In honor of Game of Thrones' 10-year anniversary, take a look at its star actresses, then and now.

Maisie Williams

Maisie Williams was under 14 when she started filming Game of Thrones. Her character, Arya Stark, became a strong female force over the seasons, allowing the actress to grow in the entertainment industry. The L'OFFICIEL USA coverstar has also gone on to act in other films such as The New Mutants (2020), iBoy (2017), and in the series Doctor Who (2015). She was recently appointed as a global sustainability ambassador for H&M.

Emilia Clarke

Emilia Clarke became world famous for playing the mother of dragons, Queen Daenerys Targaryen. But her debut on TV was in the series Doctors (2009). She has also participated in several films, such as Han Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) and The Terminator: Genesis (2015), in addition to having made major campaigns for brands like Clinique.

Lena Headey

Lena Headey played the cruel Cersei Lannister. She was nominated for an Emmy for her role in 2014 and 2015. The actress plays Jocelyn Fray in the 2013 film The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, alongside Lily Collins. In 2014, he reprized his role as Gorgo, the queen of Sparta, in the movie 300: Rise of the Empire, the sequel to the 2007 film 300.

Sophie Turner

As with Maisie, the world saw Sophie Turner grow up playing Sansa Stark. Her role was a success and she acted in other films with X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019), in addition to becoming an ambassador for Louis Vuitton and doing several campaigns for other brands. In 2017, she married singer Joe Jonas and in 2020, her first daughter, Willa Jonas, was born.

Natalie Dormer

Gwendoline Christie

Gwendoline Christie is a British actress and model who became known for playing the fierce warrior Brienne de Tarth in the series. Her role earned her an Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a drama series in 2019. She also played Lexi in the British show Wizards vs. Aliens. She recently posed for the new Swarovski campaign.
