The three-time Oscar winner is set to join the miniseries for season two. 

HBO&rsquo;s Big Little Lies doesn&rsquo;t seem too satisfied with its eight Emmy Awards and four Golden Globes won last year. It&rsquo;s going even bigger for season two. Meryl Streep is joining Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, and Zoe Kravitz in the TV miniseries drama, based on Liane Moriarty&rsquo;s novel. &nbsp;The three-time Oscar-winning legend just received her 21st Oscar nomination for The Post, breaking her own record for most acting nominations. And now, she&rsquo;s looking to expand her Emmy Awards collection since she took home the award for Angels in America in 2004 (she&rsquo;s only gotten two Emmys in the past, no big deal). &nbsp;

In season two, Streep will play Mary Louise Wright, Perry Wright&rsquo;s (Alexander Skarsgard) mother. According to the <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/meryl-streep-star-big-little-lies-season-2-hbo-1064801">Hollywood Reporter</a>, she visits Monterey to look for answers on her abusive son&rsquo;s death, who was pushed down the stairs by Bonnie (Kravitz) in the first season.
