<p>It seems that not everyone is a fan of&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/lily-collins-alber-elbaz-interview-mank-emily-in-paris-lanvin" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lily Collins</a>' character in the hit Netflix series&nbsp;<em><a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/first-look-emily-in-paris-season-2-lily-collins" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Emily in Paris</a></em>.&nbsp;</p>
<p><span>In a recent interview, the actress rebutted some criticisms about Emily's behavior, which many have noted as "exaggerated." The actress told <a href="https://www.nylon.com/entertainment/lily-collins-emily-in-paris-season-2-married-wedding-planning" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>Nylon</em></a>,</span><span> "To have someone be optimistic, bright and bubbly &mdash; it&rsquo;s sad to think that people would look and go, &lsquo;That&rsquo;s a lot.'"</span></p>
<p><span> She also commented, "These are such beautiful qualities, and the fact that she can associate that with being vulnerable, asking for help, and making mistakes - she is not infallible." The series was <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/lily-collins-emily-in-paris-golden-globe-nomination-netflix" target="_blank" rel="noopener">nominated for a Golden Globe</a> for Best Television Series&mdash;Musical or Comedy and Collins received a nomination for Best Actress.</span></p>

      <p><span>Earlier this year, Netflix announced that the show's <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/emily-in-paris-season-2-netflix-release-date" target="_blank" rel="noopener">second season will premiere</a> on December 22. While there's not much info about what's the come for our favorite social media savant, as the protagonist and producer of the series, Collins assured viewers in another interview that the new season will present greater diversity. </span></p>
      <p><span> The first season of <em>Emily in Paris</em>&nbsp;received harsh criticism for </span><span>its mostly white cast and recurrent use of offensive stereotypes of the French people. Collins said to <a href="https://www.elle.com/uk/life-and-culture/a38092633/lily-collins-elle-dec-jan-cover/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>Elle UK</em></a>, &ldquo;[In <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/first-look-emily-in-paris-season-2-lily-collins" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Season 2</a>], I really wanted diversity and inclusion in front of and behind the camera."</span></p>
