10 New Movies and TV Shows to Watch November 2021
We've got Marvel. We've got Western. We've got House of Gucci.
As we round out the year, we are seeing a surge of quality television and film coming to the screens, big and small. Lucky for us, this is the sweet spot for Hollywood releases aiming at a nomination for the awards shows next spring. November is a time with some red-hot releases coming, including Marvel's latest installment, Eternals, where Harry Styles is revealed to join the Marvel universe in the post-credits, and Passing, a triumph for Tessa Thompson. After going viral for their costuming, House of Gucci is also hitting the screen in a well-dressed journey of the Gucci family murder.

The Harder They Fall
In a reverse-Kill Bill storyline, instead of one outlaw chasing down a gang, a gang of outlaws chase down an enemy in this Western flick. Releasing on November 3, The Harder They Fall has already received rave critic reviews since its film festival premiere in October. It stars Regina King, Zazie Beets, Idris Elba, and Johnathan Majors.
Narcos: Mexico
The third and final season of Netflix's Narcos: Mexico focuses on the syndicate bosses from Sinaloa, Tijuana, and Juárez cartels. At the end of this era, Narcos will always remain in our hearts (and its song in our heads). Watch it on November 5, 2021.
Eternals
The latest installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe begins ages ago when the cosmic Celestials created near-immortal beings in a human genetic experiment. But they never left. Instead, they've been seen throughout human history while playing cosmic hijinks (and violent powerplays) behind the scenes. Eternals stars Angelina Jolie, Gemma Chan, Salma Hayek, Don Lee, Richard Madden, and a guest appearance by Harry Styles. The film hits theatres November 5.
Passing
Based on Nella Larsen's 1929 novel of the same name, Tessa Thompson plays a woman reunited with a friend who has been living her life as a white person. The movie also stars Ruth Negga and Alexander Skarsgard and is the directorial debut of Rebecca Hall. The black-and-white film hits Netflix on November 10.
Tick, Tick...Boom!
Right as he turns 30, a theatre composer, played by Andrew Garfield, navigates the complexity of life: love, friends, and artistry. The directorial debut of Hamilton's Lin-Manuel Miranda, the movie is an adaptation of the autobiographical musical by Jonathan Larson, who wrote the Broadway hit Rent. Catch High School Musical's Vanessa Hudgens and X-Men's Alexandra Shipp in supporting roles. It makes its theatrical release on November 12 and will stream via Netflix on November 19.
Bruised
An MMA fighter seeks redemption in the cage—an apt metaphor for a life of isolation—in this movie directed by and starring Halle Berry. When her son (who she gave up as an infant) returns to her life, she is faced with the gravity of the choices. Bruised comes out in theatres on November 17 and will stream on Netflix from November 24.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife
Stranger Things' Finn Wolfhard, comes to another small town with a ghost problem, albeit a less murdery one. When a single mother and two children move, they discover they are connected to the original Ghostbusters (OG) through their grandfather's secret legacy, a comedic romp ensues. The movie stars Bill Murray, Dan Ackroyd, Finn Wolfhard, Sigourney Weaver, and Paul Rudd. Catch it on November 19.
King Richard
Sister athletes Serena and Venus Williams rose through the ranks of tennis without the bells and whistles afforded to most of their competitors. Coached by their father, Richard Williams (Will Smith), King Richard examines the lives of these tennis superstars in a fictional reimagining. The movie debuts November 19.
The Great
Season 2 of The Great returns (Huzzah!). The Empress of Russia is trying to lead a satirical coup d'etat, but her husband, the king, is constantly meddling. The phenomenal show stars Elle Fanning and Nicolas Hoult. It premieres on Hulu on November 19.
House of Gucci
The wild tale of a marriage gone bad, and a divorce that got worse. The lives of Patrizia and Maurizio Gucci, the head of Gucci, come to the silver screen in a murder case so camp, it's Gucci. Based on the eponymous book, Lady Gaga and Adam Driver are accompanied by Jared Leto and Al Pacino in this Ridley Scott-directed film in theatres on November 24.
