Sade Returns from 8-Year Hiatus for Ava DuVernay's A Wrinkle in Time
The singer pens new song for the star-studded adaptation of the fantasy novel.
A Wrinkle in Time director Ava DuVernay announced today that the film’s soundtrack will feature an original song by R&B icon Sade, whose latest release was her 2010 grammy-winning album Soldier of Love. The adventure film will introduce the '80s queen to a new generation, who may not have heard the magic of the “Smooth Operator.”
“I never thought she’d say yes, but asked anyway,” DuVernay said on Twitter. “And it’s a dream come true.”
With a song title like “Flower of the Universe,” we’re sure it is.
A Wrinkle in Time, out March 9, stars Oprah Winfrey, Mindy Kaling, Chris Pine, and Reese Witherspoon.
