One of the most exciting things to look forward to this year is the long list of highly anticipated TV shows and films that are set to release. High up on that list is Daisy Jones & The Six, a TV series adaptation of the best-selling novel written by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Following the rise and fall of a '70s rock band, it's not just the interesting storyline that has fans excited for the show, but the star-studded cast list: Riley Keough (granddaughter of Elvis Presley), Camila Marrone, Sam Claflin, Will Harrison, Sebastian Chacon, Josh Whitehouse, Nabiyah Be, Timothy Olyphant, and Tom Wright. Also among the cast is English model and actress Suki Waterhouse.

Having been in the spotlight for more than a decade, Waterhouse has already accomplished a lot from having a successful modeling career to acting in multiple films. As the London native continues to further explore her acting talents, we're excited to see what she brings to the screen during Daisy Jones & The Six. In honor of her 31st birthday, L'OFFICIEL looks at five things to know about the model-turned-actress.

She's the oldest of four siblings.

Born in Hammersmith, London, Waterhouse is the oldest of four siblings. Following her are her brother, Charlie, and her two sisters, Madeleine and Imogen. Similar to their sister, Madeleine and Imogen also work in the creative field as Madeleine is a model and photographer and Imogen is a model and actress.

She's dating Robert Pattinson.

Waterhouse is so no stranger to dating A-list celebrities but perhaps her most buzzworthy relationship is with her current beau, Robert Pattinson. The couple was first rumored to have been dating in 2018 with an on-and-off again relationship through the years. Though the pair is relatively quiet about their relationship, they seem to be in a solid place as of the moment, especially since they made their first red-carpet appearance together in December 2022 at the Dior Men's Pre-Fall 2023 show.

She's a musician.

Her role as a musician in Daisy Jones & The Six may not be as foreign as you think. Since she was young, Waterhouse has always had an interest in music. Per an interview with US Weekly, the first instrument the model had ever picked up was the trombone. According to The Guardian, the actress received her first guitar at age 13 and tried to start a band at school, though it fell through when nobody showed up. In 2016 Waterhouse dropped her first single "Brutally," and in April 2022 she released her debut album I Can't Let Go.

She learned how to play the piano for her Daisy Jones & The Six audition.

While she's been working on her own music for quite some time, Waterhouse expressed in an interview with US Weekly that her audition for Daisy Jones & The Six was one of her hardest. One of the biggest reasons being she had to send a tape of herself playing the piano—an instrument she's never played before. In preparation, Waterhouse bought a keyboard and learned how to play as quickly as she could.

“I wore a wig in my apartment, got a really shaky keyboard from the local Target or whatever. I spent the whole of Christmas learning, learning, learning," she told US Weekly. "I had two weeks before I had to go to L.A. and do an actual performance. I crammed it in over Christmas. And for the audition, I really went for it. It took a couple of auditions. That was the hardest I’ve ever tried to get something in my life.”

Needless to say, she certainly impressed the casting directors enough to land the role.

She's a brown belt in karate.

Don't let her kind demeanor fool you, Waterhouse knows how to land a punch. In a 2016 interview with Marie Claire, the star spoke about learning karate in her youth and doing martial arts training when working on the film Pride and Prejudice and Zombies“I grew up doing karate, and my dad taught at our local center. I stopped doing it when I started getting boobs, because I’d get punched in the boob, and it would be so painful," she told Marie Claire.

The real question we want to know is: when will we see her in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
