Move over Call Me By Your Name; the trailer for Timothée Chalamet’s new film Beautiful Boy is finally here. In Felix Van Groeningen’s daring adaptation of the New York Times’ best-selling father-son memoir, Timmy shows us a side of himself that we haven't seen before.

We're in present-day San Fransisco, and the relationship between Nic Sheff (Chalamet) and his accomplished journalist father David (Carrell) has reached a climax. In a performance that some are claiming could propel him to the Oscar stage, Chalamet transforms from the lovesick and heartbroken Elio to a young meth addict battling addiction.

Raising questions of identity, family and the unbearable lightness of youth, the producers of 12 Years A Slave and Moonlight bring together an all-star cast. Enter Karen: David’s wife who questions what role to play as the step-mother in this tale, played by Maura Tierney who is known for her role in the hit Drama The Affair, and Amy Ryan (BirdmanGone Baby Gone) who plays the ever-determined Vicky, fighting for her son. The drama that ensues this strained relationship involves a wider web of issues and characters that we can all relate to.

Will this father-son relationship survive? Catch Beautiful Boy in theatres October 12th, and watch the trailer below.
