The highly popular teen drama series returns with a new cast of Upper East Siders and the same scandal-mongering Gossip Girl—kinda. Though the new video is only a teaser, each of the lead cast members appears as the clip alludes to the group's plethora of entanglements while actress Kristen Bell reprises her narration as the Big Apple's biggest virtual gossip hound.

Like the original, the series chronicles the lives of the elite students at Constance Billiard and St. Jude's, however, writers of the show have assured fans that Dan Humphrey is not the face behind this iteration. Instead, the reboot will follow its new characters in a world consumed by social media making each one of them a Gossip Girl in their own right. "Eight years after the original website went dark, a new generation of New York private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl," HBO shared in an official synopsis. "The prestige series will address just how much social media—and the landscape of New York itself—has changed in the intervening years."
Playing the latest set of New York City's wealthy and chic teens, the cast includes Eli Brown as Otto Bergmann IV, Jordan Alexander as Julien Calloway, Thomas Doherty as Max Wolfe, Tavi Gevinson as Kate Keller, Emily Alyn Lind as Audrey Hope, Evan Mock as Aki, Zión Moreno as Luna La, Whitney Peak as Zoya Lott, and Savannah Smith as Monet de Haan.
HBO Max is keeping further details about the show's plot under wraps, but if the teaser trailer reveals anything, fans can expect a summer full of drama, scandal, and clandestine romances. As they say, XOXO, Gossip Girl.
