The Addams Family is coming back to screens in this chilling Netflix adaptation.

In 2020, it was announced that horror filmmaker <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/addams-family-reboot-tim-burton-christina-ricci" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tim Burton</a> would be directing a Netflix series surrounding one bewitching character from The Addams Family, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/wednesday-addams-inspired-designer-fashion-prada-gucci-fall-halloween-style" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Wednesday Addams</a>. The show follows Wednesday tackling life as a teenager and the scariest place of them all&ndash;high school. While it's not a spinoff from the film's earlier franchise, it will still show some of the beloved characters we all know and love. Netflix conveniently dropped the trailer on a Wednesday, giving us a sneak peek of what's to come from the series. Here's what we know about the show so far.

Release Date

Fans can expect to watch Wednesday this Wednesday, November 23, on Netflix.

The show has modern scream queen Jenny Ortega as its lead. Ortega has taken on a series of horror roles very recently. She's starred in the film&nbsp;X&nbsp;and&nbsp;the latest installment in the&nbsp;Scream&nbsp;movie franchise. With this in mind, we know Ortega will take on this project flawlessly. Also in the Wednesday cast is Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Luis G&uacute;zman as Gomez, and Gwendoline Christie as Larissa Weems, principal of Wednesday's school, Nevermore Academy.

The Addams Family fans, get excited! Christina Ricci, the original Wednesday Addams from the '90s film franchise, has also joined the show as a series regular. However, her role in the show has not been disclosed yet, as her character is supposed to be a surprise for viewers.&nbsp;

What to Expect

Expect lots of scares and lots of laughs from this series. Based on the trailer, it seems like Netflix is taking on a darker approach to the horror-comedy show. With the King of macabre Burton as its director, we wouldn't expect anything less.&nbsp;Burton's repertoire of horror is known by many. He created&nbsp;Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, and&nbsp;Sweeny Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. The films are wicked but have a deep sense of comedy&mdash;Burton's signature.&nbsp;
