The gala celebrates and uplifts women in the film industry, making it one of the most critical events on the annual entertainment calendar.&nbsp;

On Nov. 6, the industry's leading filmmakers, actors, and artists gathered at the Beverly Hilton, where they championed the importance of inclusivity in filmmaking and f&ecirc;ted the achievements of several of Hollywood's leading stars.&nbsp;
Attendees came from all corners of the industry to celebrate the event and enjoyed a lively cocktail reception, followed by dinner, and the awards presentation. Guests included <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/the-crown-season-5-princess-diana-elizabeth-debicki" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Elizabeth Debicki</a>, Lili Reinhart, Ejae, Felicity Jones, and Maria Bello, among others.
Five award categories&mdash;including the Icon Award, the Crystal Award for Advocacy in Television, the Crystal Award for Advocacy in Film, the Jane Fonda Humanitarian Award, and the Women in Film Max Mara Face of the Future Award&mdash;were presented during the event. Winners were Kristin Wiig (Icon Award), Maria Brock Akil, Judy Blume, Regina King (Crystal Award for Advocacy in Television), Tessa Thompson, Nia Dacosta, Dede Gardner, Gabrielle Nadig (the Crystal Award for Advocacy in Film), Jamie Lee Curtis (<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/politics-culture/jane-fonda-activism-feminist-timeline-protest-arrest" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jane Fonda</a> Humanitarian Award), and Maude Apatow (Women in Film Max Mara Face of the Future Award).&nbsp;
This year marked the 20th anniversary of the WIF Max Mara Award, so previous winners like Zoey Deutch, Elizabeth Debicki, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/lili-reinhart-debuts-her-brunette-locks-ahead-of-new-role" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lili Reinhart</a>, and Maria Bello attended the event in support of Apatow and Max Mara. The award is designated to recognize a young actress who achieves both artistic excellence and a positive community impact.&nbsp;
With funds raised from the gala, the foundation will put monetary support towards women's education, career, and advocacy programs with a particular focus on the entertainment industry.&nbsp;

Prior to the gala, Max Mara honored Apatow at an exclusive cocktail event held at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles. Maria Giulia Prezioso Maramotti&mdash;granddaughter of Achille Maramott, the label's founder&mdash;hosted the sophisticated soir&eacute;e.&nbsp;
