Everything We Know About Zoë Kravitz's Upcoming Role as Catwoman
Birthday girl Zoë Kravitz already has fans excited about her next role in The Batman.
Zoë Kravtiz has successfully returned to Instagram as the sensationally sensual Catwoman, AKA Selina Kyle. After previously deleting all of her Instagram photos, the image definitely did not go unnoticed. In celebration of Kravtiz’s birthday, L’OFFICIEL shares everything fans need to know about her upcoming role in The Batman.
In early October, the Big Little Lies actress proudly revealed that she will co-star in the upcoming Matt Reeves-directed The Batman movie, alongside castmates Colin Farrel, Paul Dano, Robert Pattinson, and Peter Sarsgaard.
The iconic role has Michelle Pfeiffer and Anne Hathaway-sized shoes to fill, however, given Kravtiz’s impressive experience playing female heroines, the casting is practically perfect. The actress is no stranger to superheroes, or even the role of Catwoman. In 2017, Kravitz voiced the role in the Lego Batman movie and went on to play the iconic role of Angel Salvatore in the 2018 X-Men.
Although the role of Batman was originally created with Ben Affleck in mind, Kravtiz gushes over Pattinson’s outstanding performance and ensures fans will be impressed. In an interview with Variety, Kravitz called Pattinson "perfect for the role" and shared that his transformation was "out of this world."
Images of the star on set surfaced, revealing Kravitz in an impressive all-black ensemble complete with lace-up boots, fishnet tights, and a belted leather coat. Kravitz shared that she spent two months in London training and "getting-in-shape" for the role. During an appearance on the QuestLove Supreme podcast, Kravtiz shared that although her training has been "intense" she is now able to hold her own in a fight.
The film is set to release March 4, 2022 and will be the first in a trilogy.
