It is a truth universally known that friends don't let friends wear Crocs. Alright, if not a universal truth, then it's certainly a truth for Zoë Kravitz. While speaking to Deadline about her upcoming directorial debut film Pussy Island, Channing Tatum (who stars in the film) praised the young actress for her confident demeanor during their first meeting, including her proclamation that he cut his Crocs habit.

He explained, "When someone can just come out and tell me I should not be wearing Crocs and is so adamant about it, she completely convinced me and I never wear Crocs anymore."

She poked back, "I was just trying to be a good friend, Chan."

While the two joked back and forth about the subject, the Magic Mike actor remembered exactly she went about promoting the abrupt change in his wardrobe. "I get it, but I totally loved Crocs for a hot second, and in one hang she was like, you can't ever do that again. And I said, 'OK, fine.'"

However, the High Fidelity actress did concede to Tatum that "there are people out there who can pull off the Crocs thing, I just wasn't sure you were one of them."

In recent years, the foam shoes have been adapted by major fashion houses like Balenciaga to boast a more high fashion feel. Several major celebrities like Justin Bieber and Post Malone have also collaborated with the brand on successful capsule collections. However, many are still on the fence—Victoria Beckham notably turned down Bieber's suggestion that she jump on the trend.

While discussing their upcoming film, which stars Tatum as tech billionaire Slater King, Kravitz revealed that the actor the ideal candidate for the role. “Chan was my first choice, the one I thought of when I wrote this character,” she explained. “I just knew from Magic Mike and his live shows, I got the sense he’s a true feminist and I wanted to collaborate with someone who was clearly interested in exploring this subject matter.”
