Hedi Slimane’s visceral passion for music is well-known,  a recurring obsession that has characterized his career from the beginning and prompted the creation of a new aesthetic that champions gender fluidity and androgyny. The men's Spring/Summer 2020 collection is a celebration of the musical myths of the 70s, captured as much on the stage as in their legendary everyday life. Heavy red drapery reveals a sculpture of lights, all surrounding a model in glittering 70s pinstripe. The image gives the public of the most Instagrammable moments of this men’s fashion month. The slogan "I have nostalgia for things I probably have never known" by David Kramer, one of the artists who has collaborated with Hedi Slimane this season, stands out on one of the straw totes. The show follows this slogan to a tee with its mixture of passion and melancholy for a sparkling era long gone. The suggestions of Serge Gainsbourg and Mick Jagger come alive on the catwalk in slim silhouettes and denim flare paired with leather jackets or more carefree, relaxed-fit blazers. There is no lack of artistic reference, art being another one of Hedi’s passions. After the collaboration with Christian Marclay in the debut collection, yesterday's show saw the addition of works by Carlos to the aforementioned David Kramer.  Andrè Butzer, Zach Bruder, and Darby Milbrath round out the docket, with Milbrath’s densely colored backgrounds appearing in a glittering, finely decorated bomber.
