Rick Owens revived his Adidas partnership for Spring/Summer 2027 with a dystopian, heat-proof collection.&nbsp;

At Rick Owens, even a sportswear collaboration doesn’t arrive quietly. For Spring/Summer 2027, the designer staged one of Paris Men’s Fashion Week’s most talked-about surprises: the return of his long-dormant partnership with Adidas. Nearly a decade after the pair last worked together, Owens sent the Three Stripes back down his runway in a collection that fused performance gear, apocalypse dressing, and the sort of theatrical extremity only he can achieve.&nbsp;
Owens' standouts came in the form of inflated track jackets and matching shorts that looked almost pneumatic on the body, their swollen proportions pushing sportswear into sci-fi territory. Built using Adidas’ Climacool technology, several of the opening looks reportedly housed built-in fans that inflated the garments while cooling the wearer. In another heat-defying gesture, an ice vest developed to help athletes manage extreme temperatures was worked into the lineup, turning the realities of a sweltering summer into part of the show’s conceptual backbone.&nbsp;

The familiar Adidas track jacket was warped into a hulking, inflated shell, while lean zip-up pieces and abbreviated running shorts kept the collaboration tethered to the visual language of sport. In the images, those pieces sit beside Owens's signatures—towering boots, black leather, and hyper-elongated trousers—so that the collection never reads like a straightforward brand mash-up.
The footwear, naturally, was just as extreme. One standout sneaker appeared with an exaggerated midsole that looked almost cartoonishly oversized, transforming the proportions of Adidas performance running shoes into something far more sculptural. In backstage and runway images, his exaggerated thesis was amplified by beauty looks that felt almost creature-like—spiked lashes, slicked-down hair, eerie contact lenses—giving the models the appearance of a futuristic team.&nbsp;
If the original Rick Owens x Adidas collaboration helped lay the groundwork for today’s designer-sportswear ecosystem, this comeback proves the partnership still has the power to continue the conversation.
