Chan Marshall aka Cat Power just dropped another new song from her upcoming album Wanderer, this time featuring the vocals of none other than our Issue 1 cover star Lana Del Rey. The song titled “Woman,” was released alongside a music video directed by Greg Hunt, featuring Marshall and her band.
It's been six years since Cat Power's last album Sun (2012) and her band will be heading out on tour this September. She described the making of the album in a recent interview; "The course my life has taken in this journey—going from town to town, with my guitar, telling my tale; with reverence to the people who did this generations before me. Folk singers, blues singers, and everything in between. They were all wanderers, and I am lucky to be among them.”
The song is classic Cat Power reminiscent of her most famous albums Myra Lee (1996) and You Are Free (2003), so fans of her earlier work won't be disappointed.
