While the music industry may have failed women artists this year—ahem, Grammys—our favorite female artists have refused to let that stop them. They are as powerful and fierce as ever, refusing to let an outdated awards show determine their next move, and we 100 percent are here for it. One of those women is Dua Lipa, who we caught up with on Valentine's Day.
Long story short: the singer has been incredibly busy as of late, and has even made history with her five Brit award nominations (the most nominations a female artist has ever received). But despite all the hubbub, Lipa did make time for an appearance on BBC Radio One's Live Lounge to perform some of her hits, among them the catchy and triumphant "IDGAF." However, this wouldn't be a solo performance. For this, Lipa enlisted the help of four famous friends: Zara Larsson, MØ, Alma, and Charli XCX.
In an interview with Radio 1's Nick Grimshaw, Lipa revealed that it was a text message that made the collaboration happen. "It's been good to see women come together," she explained. "We've been put against each other for so long." Hooray for girl power, and consider our girl group dreams come true, at least until the Spice Girls embark on their world tour.
