A packed roster of musicians pay tribute to the legend's greatest hits in not one, but two albums. 

Just this morning, Elton John threw out the greatest&nbsp;<a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/BgWP3dOH3F8/?hl=en&amp;taken-by=eltonjohn">surprise</a>&nbsp;we&#39;ve had in a while &mdash;&nbsp;two new tribute albums coming on April 6. What shocked the world is the mix of R&amp;B, Pop, and Americana artists who are covering some of his greatest hits with long-time lyricist, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/BgWSBaMDeiZ/?taken-by=bernietaupinofficial">Bernie Taupin</a>. Major artists like Miley Cyrus (who performed with him at the <a href="https://www.billboard.com/articles/news/grammys/8096787/grammys-2018-elton-john-miley-cyrus-croon-tiny-dancer">Grammys</a>), Lady Gaga, Logic, and Grammy winner Alessia Cara will have&nbsp;their own twist on John&#39;s songs in the&nbsp;album titled&nbsp;Revamped, while country artists like Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, and Chris Stapleton will sing their covers in the&nbsp;Nashville-edition album titled Restoration. &nbsp;

&quot;As songwriters, Bernie and myself are thrilled when singers we admire and respect as much as those on&nbsp;Revamp&nbsp;and&nbsp;Restoration&nbsp;choose to add their own unique twist in the process. It means that our music is still relevant and ultimately that our songs continue to reach new audiences,&quot; said John in a statement to the <a href="https://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/miley-cyrus-lady-gaga-set-for-elton-john-tribute-album-w517890">Rolling Stone</a>.&nbsp;

Both albums, called the &ldquo;Reimagining the Songs of Elton John and Bernie Taupin,&quot; follow&nbsp;John&#39;s last tour announcement that kicks off this fall. Since the Grammys in January, the &quot;Rocket Man&quot; singer has been on a roll with his custom <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/music/say-it-ain-t-so-elton-john-announces-farewell-tour">Gucci</a>&nbsp;costumes, the upcoming tribute albums, and the <a href="http://variety.com/2018/music/news/inside-the-elton-john-post-grammys-tribute-concert-with-ed-sheeran-lady-gaga-miley-cyrus-sza-and-more-watch-1202725695/">tribute show</a> airing April 10. Strategically set to air several days after the new albums&#39;s release, Elton John: I&rsquo;m Still Standing&ndash;A Grammy Salute,&nbsp;will feature the same artists with the addition of SZA, Shawn Mendes, John Legend, and Kesha (which makes us wonder why they&#39;re not included in the albums, too).&nbsp;
