She teams up with Vampire Weekend's Rostam Batmanglij to kick off her forthcoming album.

Just two years ago, fresh NYU graduate Maggie Rogers was a viral sensation after a video of Pharrell listening to her track &ldquo;Alaska&rdquo; started making the rounds. It was the revered producer&rsquo;s stunned expression that launched a career, and Rogers&rsquo;s following offerings, from her Now That the Light Is Fading EP, that have cemented her as a viable star.

Today, she releases &ldquo;Fallingwater,&rdquo; co-created with Rostam Batmanglij of Vampire Weekend. From the offset, Rogers presents a more mature, confident sound. Whereas previous tracks started with instrumentals crafted from her personal nature recordings (the buzzing of forests, spoons clanking), Rogers leads with her voice on the new single.

&ldquo;[Rostam and I] wrote and produced this song together in spurts over the last two years, during the course of which I found a voice more powerful than I&rsquo;d ever imagined and learned that melodies come to me in dreams,&rdquo; she writes in a post to Twitter, further describing the song as a &ldquo;cry for help and a battle cry at the same time.&rdquo;

Next week, Rogers plays the main stage at Governors Ball in NYC, and then hits the road with HAIM for a string of European tour dates.
