Where in the world is Nicki Minaj? Is she in Paris? Los Angeles? Or New York? Miami? It's a question that's been on the minds of many as the Queen of Rap has continuously been moving in silence. But thankfully, that silence has now been broken.
Minaj has announced not one, but two upcoming singles on her Instagram account. The first is "Barbie Tingz," featuring Minaj standing in the center of masked figures all dressed in 18th-century maidens (See: Infanta Maria Theresa by Deigo Velazquez). The second is "Chun-Li," which shows Minaj sporting Fendi's latest delve into logomania while also paying reference to the Street Fighter video game character. Both are set to premiere Friday, April 12 at 10 am PST, 1 PM EST.
It is still unknown when exactly the album is coming. Reportedly, Minaj delayed its original release (previously slated for the beginning of April) in order to avoid overshadowing fellow female rapper Cardi B's debut Invasion of Privacy. After mysteriously tweeting (and then deleting) the numbers '3' and '4' on her Twitter, her ever-faithful Barbz fandom went into overdrive, stalking the accounts of upcoming potential collaborators like Mike Will Made-It and Yung Thung.
So for now, we'll just be admiring these two works of art. At least until Thursday.
