Lady Gaga's Piano Version of Joanne Will Break Your Heart

With an even more beautiful story behind it.

The release of Lady Gaga's Joanne had many talking, as it showed a new, softer side to the pop star that we've come to know as outspoken and brazen. The cornerstone of the album was the title track, "Joanne," written about (and for) her father's sister, who died at age 19 from complications associated with lupus. In her new accompanying music video, Gaga takes the already-beautiful track and turns it into something sob-worthy, by stripping it down further into a piano version. Quietly, the star also made a donation to the Lupus Research Alliance along with its release. It's a move somewhat opposite the bold moves Gaga normally takes, however the new video and track embolden themselves through the tragedy of what really happened, and the beauty of what Gaga has made it into. It's also a move made right before the Grammys, which Gaga is slated to perform at. Here's hoping we'll hear it there. After all, there are few better performances than Gaga with just a piano
