Zayn Announces Highly Anticipated Tour for Latest Album 'Room Under the Stairs'
Fans have been waiting for this moment.
Within the past few months, L'OFFICIEL's cover star Zayn has slowly rolled out promo for his fourth studio album, Room Under The Stairs. In March, he announced the release of the upcoming album. In early April, he teased the album with the official tracklist, released his single "Alienated" on April 12, and finally released the complete album on May 17.
Since then, fans have been anticipating the news of a tour to accompany his newest album as he teased the idea of tour during a live stream back in April. A fan sneakily asked if he would play it on tour. Zayn's cryptic response? “Ummm, yes, that is the answer. Umm, yeah, I’d be stupid not to.”
After departing One Direction in 2015 and releasing his first studio album, Mind of Mine, in 2016, Malik has yet to tour solo in his 8 years as a solo artist.
The time has finally come. The singer took to Instagram early this morning to announce the long-awaited tour, which, to many people's surprise, kicks off in just a short month.
Entitled "Stairway to the Sky Tour," Malik expresses his gratitude to his fans for their patience while getting the tour details set.
"Appreciate your patience, love, and support. Can’t wait to enjoy great music together.
This time, I really mean soon. See you in 35 days…." he wrote to his Instagram followers.
Zayn has mentioned in the past he suffers from anxiety and has always been hesitant about going on a solo tour, especially after touring endlessly for years during One Direction. He was set to perform at Wembley Stadium in London, England for Capital FM's Summertime Ball on June 11, 2016, followed by a sold-out headline concert at the Autism Rocks Arena in Dubai on October 7, 2016. However, he canceled both performances due to struggles with anxiety.
However, eight years later, Zayn seems ready to go on a tour and see his fans live. Although a smaller tour, fans are ready to queue up for tickets, going on sale this Saturday.
