Away from the line of succession, Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex is discreet and has always stayed out of the limelight and far from controversies.

<p>While the three sons of&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/queen-elizabeth-ii-ban-kim-kardashian-london-hotel">Queen Elizabeth II </a>and Prince Philip, <a href="https://www.lofficiel.co.uk/pop-culture/73-anniversary-queen-elizabeth-prince-philip-their-love-story-not-shown-in-the-crown">Duke of Edinburgh</a> all stand out for their different personalities, peculiarities, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/royals-lost-titles-2019">Prince Edward</a>, the youngest of the British royal children, has spent his life away from the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/politics-culture/prince-charles-camilla-parker-bowels-royals-scandal-diana">public scandals</a> that have surrounded the royal family. Never divorced, The&nbsp;Earl of Wessex, also stands out for a lifestyle marked by sensitivity and an appreciation of the arts.</p>

<p>Because he is far from the line of succession, it is likely that Edward, born on March 10, 1964, never cared about taking the throne. This unpretentiousness likely affected him in school, earning average grades and far below what is traditionally expected for a member&nbsp;of the royal family. Upon his graduation, Prince Edward went on a sabbatical to New Zealand.</p>


<p>After returning to England he graduated from Cambridge with regular grades, and then began his military career.&nbsp;Under the influence of his brother <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop%20culture/princess-beatrice-engaged-wedding-location-2019">Prince Andrew, Duke of York</a>, he began to work for the Royal Marines in 1986. However, such was not Edward&#39;s true calling, and he quit his job the following year. His departure from the group was seen as a sign of weakness by the British press, who did not spare the prince from strong criticism.</p>

<p>Surviving&nbsp;the difficult, the youngest prince then decided to venture into musical production.&nbsp;In celebration of <a href="https://www.revistalofficiel.com.br/pop-culture/conheca-a-assinatura-de-cada-um-dos-membros-da-familia-real-britanica">Queen Elizabeth</a> II&#39;s 60th birthday,&nbsp;commissioned a short musical from <a href="https://www.lofficielarabia.com/pop-culture/news-phantom-of-the-opera-comes-to-dubai">Andrew Lloyd Webber</a>&nbsp;and Tim Rice, <em>Cricket</em>.<em>&nbsp;</em>The producers of the show, which&nbsp;was first performed at <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/queen-elizabeth-cancels-all-royal-garden-parties-2021">Windsor Castle</a> on 18 June 1986, noticed the Earl had such enthusiasm that they invited him to work as a musical production assistant.</p>


<p style="text-align:justify">In the years since, <em>The Phantom of the Opera</em> and <em>Cats </em>have been some of the many great shows the prince has work on, and in 1993 he formed Ardent Productions, the tv production company responsible for the creation of several noted documentaries. The United Kingdom did not approve of Edward&#39;s choice, however they were greatly received in the United States as well as across the globe.</p>

<p>It was also during this period that the personal life of the Earl of Wessex came to the fore. In 1994, Edward met Sophye Rhys-Jones, whom he married in 1999 in a relatively simple ceremony when compared to those of his brothers. The marriage did not have wide media effects, since the attention of the press was still focused on the death of <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/princess-diana-royal-wedding-dress-legal-battle-copyright-infringement">Diana</a>, almost two years previous. The stability of the marriage is remarkable, with no scandal associated with the Earl and Countess of Wessex, who are parents to two children: Louise and James Windsor.</p>
