Jisoo of iconic K-pop girl group Blackpink and My Name actor Ahn Bo-hyun officially announced their relationship just two months ago, but the couple has now called it quits. Blackpink’s agency YG Entertainment confirmed the news of the duo’s breakup, with various news outlets citing the celebrities’ busy schedules that naturally led to the couple growing apart in their relationship.

The pop star and actor first attracted the attention of fans worldwide when they publicly confirmed the news of their relationship in early August this year. This was an especially shocking announcement given that Jisoo is the first member of Blackpink to be permitted by YG to be in a relationship, especially with a fellow celebrity.

With the other members of Blackpink, Jisoo has been busily performing on global stages around the world, for the group’s Born Pink Tour which just recently ended in September. A relatively new face in the acting world, Jisoo is in talks to make her film debut, with the movie Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint alongside Lee Min-ho, who first rose to fame in the Korean TV adaptation of Boys Over Flowers (2009). Filming for the upcoming movie, which is based on a popular webtoon of the same name, is set to commence in December.

As one of the hottest actors of the moment in South Korea, Ahn Bo-hyun has also been taking on many projects since Itaewon Class (2020), which was a pivotal moment in his career. Since then, the 35-year-old has landed leading roles in My Name (2021), Yumi’s Cells (2021 - 2022) and See You in My 19th Life (2023).
