Who is Courtney Taylor Olsen, the Secret Olsen Sister?
You may know Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen for being famous child stars in the '90s, or their signature boho-chic look that transformed them into high fashion moguls with their own award-winning, luxury womenswear line. You may even know their younger sister, Elizabeth Olsen, who starred alongside Mary-Kate and Ashley in some shows at a younger age but didn’t become widely known until later. Most notably, Elizabeth stars as Wanda Maximoff, or the Scarlet Witch, in Marvel’s The Avengers franchise and the Disney+ series WandaVision.
But there are more Olsen sisters than you thought: enter Courtney Taylor Olsen. Courtney Taylor is Mary-Kate, Ashley, and Elizabeth's half-sister (she's the daughter of their dad, David Olsen, and his second wife, McKenzie Olsen).
Many people have confused both Courtney and her brother Jake for being actors, too, since there are other actors by the same names, but Courtney didn’t decide to follow the film path of her sisters—she’s never been in any movies or done any interviews.
She keeps a low profile, but sometimes shares tidbits from her life on her Instagram. Back in 2018, she even posted a photo looking up at a poster of her big half-sis Elizabeth for Avengers: Infinity War, captioning it, “Just admiring my badass of a sister.” More recently, she attended the 2022 world premiere of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness to cheer on her superhero sister.
Staying out of the spotlight is an Olsen tradition. Though they were some of the most famous child stars, and have become coveted designers, Mary-Kate and Ashley have notoriously been private figures.
Courtney may not be in the public eye, but some of her best friends are. She often posts pics with Disney child star and actress Madison Pettis, who was on shows like Cory in the House, Phineas Ferb, and Hannah Montana.
Courtney doesn't seem to be taking to the screen like her sisters right now, but if she does decide to step into the spotlight, she's certainly another Olsen sister to keep an eye on.
