From iconic papparazzi moments to stand out bad girl performances in Scream 4, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/american-horror-story-season-12-release-date-cast-kim-kardashian-emma-roberts" target="_blank" rel="noopener">American Horror Story</a> and more, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/emma-roberts-amanda-seyfried-2019" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Emma Roberts</a> has established herself as an industry icon and far more than <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/julia-roberts-young-pictures-pretty-woman" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Julia's</a> niece. Now the 33-year-old actress is facing a new adventure: marriage. She <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/C9feF3KJLdO/?hl=en">announced</a> her engagement to actor Cody John on Instagram on July 16.
&ldquo;putting this here before my mom tells everyone ❤️,&rdquo; she captioned the photo, in which the happy couple glowed and Roberts flashed her ring.
Roberts has expressed how differently and privately she wants to go about this relationship as opposed to her past ones, telling <a href="https://www.cosmopolitan.com/entertainment/celebs/a27229495/emma-roberts-break-up-evan-peters-dating-netflix-movie/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Cosmopolitan</a> "I never want to talk about relationships I'm in or that are ending or have ended. It's hard enough to be with someone by yourself, let alone with an audience."
Roberts' dating history has been as star studded as her filmography with the likes of Evan Peters (AHS, X-Men), Hayden Christensen (Star Wars: The Phantom Menace), Chord Overstreet (Glee), and the father of Rhodes, Garret Hedlund.

Roberts' Insta&nbsp; caption is an obvious nod to her mom Kelly Cunningham, who accidentily introduced the world to Emma's son Rhodes on social media without telling her.
She took to Instagram shortly after her mom leaked the photos, resharing some of her own and writing: &ldquo;When your mom posts your sons face without asking but you love them both so whatever.&rdquo;&nbsp;
Roberts and John were spotted earlier this year on a breezy stroll in LA holding hands and have been confirmed by outside sources to have met through mutual friends. Their engagement annoucement comes right after Roberts's newest film Space Cadet was released on Amazon Prime.&nbsp;
