On June 15, 2024, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/kate-middleton-is-back-at-work-albeit-remotely" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kate Middleton</a> appeared in public for the first time in over six months when she attended the annual Trooping the Color procession&mdash;a ceremonial event held every June that celebrates the official birthday of the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/a-very-british-scandal-history-timeline-margaret-campbell-duchess-of-argyll" target="_blank" rel="noopener">British</a> sovereign. The event, which has been a mainstay in the British royal family's social calendar for over 260 years, sees the performance of military bands, a parade led by the royal family in opulent carriages, British soldiers on horseback, and finally, a fly-past of the Royal Air Force.&nbsp;
Since joining the royal family in 2011 after a fairy-tale wedding to <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/young-photos-prince-william" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Prince William</a>&mdash;one of the most watched events in the past decade that was streamed online by over 72 million people worldwide&mdash;Kate Middleton has dutifully attended the Trooping the Color procession each year, appearing the picture of royal perfection in a series of elegant looks. From flowy, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/butter-yellow-dress-shopping-butter-yellow-outfits" target="_blank" rel="noopener">butter-yellow dresses</a> to dreamy bubblegum pink frocks to kelly green gowns, Kate Middleton has donned dresses in nearly every color of the rainbow at Trooping the Color throughout her time as an official member of the royal family.&nbsp;
This year, in her surprise appearance at the procession, she wore a sleek white <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/kate-middleton-favorite-dresses-to-wear-more-than-once" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jenny Packham</a> dress accompanied by a pared-back black-and-white-striped ribbon and a minimalistic, wide-brimmed Philip Treacy hat&mdash;a look that no doubt celebrated the excellency of British fashion designers. 
Kate Middleton announced her attendance at Trooping the Color just a day before the event in a statement through <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/princess-diana-wedding-dress-royal-style-kensington-palace" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kensington Palace</a>, where she wrote:&nbsp;&ldquo;I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days,&rdquo; she said. &ldquo;On those bad days, you feel weak, tired, and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well. My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months. On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home.&rdquo; She also added that while she expects to attend several events over the summer, she is still recovering from treatment and is not yet back at full health.&nbsp;
