Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez had an infamous, drama-laden relationship between 2002 and 2004 The two met during the filming of the movie Gigli and were such a beloved couple that they even earned the name Bennifer. In 2002, the pair were engaged, although much to the dismay of fans of the couple, a few days before their wedding, scheduled for September 2004. the two split up.
Following her separation from Alex Rodriguez in 2021, Affleck reportedly got back in contact with the singer after sending her an email checking in on her. Once the former couple started speaking again, they seemed to pick back up right where they left off. ”People in my life know that he was a very, very special person in my life. When we reconnected, those feelings for me were still very real," Lopez revealed in a Vogue interview.
On July 17, 2022, Bennifer solidified their reunion with a private wedding ceremony in Las Vegas.
