British actor and internet heartthrob Joseph Quinn is most famously known for his role as Eddie Munson in Stranger Things, the brave guitarist who saved his friends at the expense of his life. But with several movies coming up, Quinn is the talk of social media. His upcoming films Gladiator ll, A Quiet Place: Day One, and Fantastic Four are highly anticipated, keeping the actor very busy. His red carpet and fashion show attire have also left quite the impression, also lending him as quite the style icon. Quinn was born in January 1994 in Clapham, London, where he was raised and continues to live. He's constantly spotted around several parts of London running errands and hanging out with friends.
He's been interested in acting since he was a child.
Quinn grew up around TV sets, as his mother, father and step-father worked in television and cinema. That led him to Emanuel, a private school in London focused on drama, from which he graduated in 2012. In an interview with Contents, Quinn reveals that nothing has compared to his love for acting, saying, "There hasn't been anything that's come along and made me go 'shit! I love that.'"
He continued on to study drama at London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and graduated in 2015.
After graduating from Emanuel, Quinn attended the esteemed LAMDA, a university with alumni of the likes of Sam Claflin and Benedict Cumberbatch. He auditioned for his debut role while still in school.
His first role was in a BBC show called Dickensian, where he played the role of Arthur Havisham.
This popular BBC series cast Quinn while he was still studying at LAMDA, and made him one of the protagonists. The series crams several of Charles Dickens's fictional characters into 19th century London, where their lives intertwine.
He was in an episode of Game of Thrones as a soldier named Koner.
In season 7 of Game of Thrones, Quinn played a soldier of House Stark, who was stationed outside of Winterfell when Arya Stark arrives. Although his role was small in GoT, it led him to garner the attention he needed to book other roles such as his most famous one, Edie Munson on Stranger Things.
