Khloé Kardashian Gets Candid About Being Compared to Her Sisters
“They emphasized that they were prettier,” says the 37-year-old socialite.
Khloé Kardashian recently discussed her feelings in reaction to a slew of comments made about her appearance—especially those that compared her to her older sisters, Kourtney and Kim Kardashian.
The 37-year-old socialite's confessions came in a new interview with Variety. When asked what was the most hurtful comment made about her to date, Khloé replied, "Oh my God. There are so many. When I was younger, I was always compared to my sisters, in the sense that I couldn't be related to them because we are different. It was always emphasized that they were much prettier." She even classified such statements as being made "in very bad taste."
She went on to say that “these things were definitely very painful; always be compared to them, especially in the world of fashion or beauty, comparing our bodies and faces." Kardashian also mentioned her vulnerability and transparency in the public eye, given that her personal problems, especially those related to the failure of her relationships with Lamar Odom and Tristan Thompson, could be followed in the reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians since 2007.
The businesswoman also reflected on the condemnation of women when their partner is involved in wrongdoing. "I never really understood why there was that instead of having some empathy or being like, 'Wow, it must really suck to have to go through this.' And not only did I go through it, but then I went through it publicly. I don't care if people have empathy. I just don't understand why there are so many fingers being pointed."
The reality star added that in the Kardashian clan's new Hulu show The Kardashians, the latest chapters of her relationship with Thompson, the father of her two-year-old daughter, will be shown. The most recent cheating scandal starring the NBA athlete happened last year when he was involved with the model Maralee Nichols during the resumption of his romance with KoKo in the pandemic.
"It would be weird if Tristan was a part of the [old family's] show and all of a sudden he disappears and we never talk about it. Viewers would almost feel slighted, like we weren't sharing things and like they weren't so real So, yes, we touched on that," she declared. "I always try to be as respectful as possible, but that's the reality. But it won't be a long, drawn-out situation. I think people are probably a little tired of it."
