L'Avenue Opens At Saks Fifth Avenue
Parisian favorite and celebrity host restaurant, L’Avenue, is bringing its first US eatery to New York City and not just to any location, but the location: Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City. Celebrities such as Kanye West, Justin Bieber, and Rihanna regard Paris’s L’Avenue as their brasserie of choice, which they have been seen paying a visit to when taking a jaunt to The City of Lights. The upscale restaurant is appropriately located within New York’s premier department store, dawning luxury brands and attracting impressive clientele.
The restaurant sprawls across two floors of the bona fide mecca for fashion, overlooking 30 Rockefeller Center and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Created as a part of a 250 million dollar renovation to modernize, Saks will house the French-Thai fusion restaurant that has caught the eye of the French elite. With the Parisian eatery boasting such dishes as spicy beef tenderloin and tom yum chile sea bass, the restaurant’s New York cuisine is expected to be just as impressive.
Keeping with its French origins, L’Avenue designed by interior decorator, Philippe Starck, who is responsible for the lively and contemporary settings of Hollywood favorites such as Katsuya and Bazaar. L’Avenue is anticipated to live up to the designer’s reputation for atmospheric perfection. Starck’s attention to detail and sense for the importance of style are only elevated by the restaurant’s historic location and observation among people with the same sensibilities for the fashion world.
Saks’s flagship store is like a well-tailored suit, classic, impeccable, and always in style, however, the need for brands to innovate has never been more pressing. The store’s renovations and the inclusion of the notable L’Avenue is a big feat that is sure to inspire more visits. The store's president, Marc Metrick, responded to the excitement surrounding the Saks’s newest metamorphosis, stating, "Bringing Parisian legend L'Avenue to our flagship furthers our mission to make Saks the hero again."
