Martha Stewart's first&mdash;and arguably biggest&mdash;scandal in the public eye was her infamous five-month stint in prison after she was found guilty of lying to federal investigators and obstructing an inquiry into potential insider trading allegations. Though the scandal shook the whole world, Stewart wouldn't have been able to rise from the ashes without her infamous jail sentence and subsequent (yet brief) time on house arrest in the early 2000s when she was found guilty of unfairly trading ImClone stocks per insider tips from her stockbroker.
The golden-haired girl was ousted in federal court by none other than her closest friend and fellow Connecticut housewife, Mariana Pasternak, who testified against Stewart in court and sealed Stewart's fate in the eyes of judges.&nbsp;

Roughly a decade after her prison sentence, Stewart made a surprising appearance on the Comedy Central Roast of <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/justin-bieber-new-album-hailey-bieber-lyrics" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Justin Bieber</a>&nbsp;alongside Snoop Dogg, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/who-is-elsie-hewitt-pete-davidson-girlfriend-benny-blanco-ex" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Pete Davidson</a>, Will Ferrell, and Kevin Hart. Stewart's ability to hold her own amongst mostly male comedic legends earned media attention towards the show, and her brutal comedic delivery became a major highlight overall.
Not long after the event, on the show Late Night with Seth Meyers, Stewart said that sitting close to Snoop Dogg for an extended period of time gave her a contact high: "I got high just sitting there... The secondary smoke is just as powerful as primary smoke, so I was totally high by the time I got on that microphone."

While the cover itself was about as demure as swimsuit shoots come, Stewart's confidence and boldness caused a stir online.
Though longtime fans and fierce proponents of bodily autonomy praised Stewart's move, others criticized her, arguing that she should have passed on the opportunity because of her age. For the cover, the model-cook-homemaker-business owner donned a one-piece swimsuit with a chic shawl, and she later expressed that she hoped it would help other women of her age to feel more confident.&nbsp;
