Jonas made the first move in September 2016, sending Chopra a direct message on Twitter. He told her that some mutual friends had been encouraging them to meet. They continued to stay in touch.
February 2017
While they did not attend together, their first public appearance was at the 2017 Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty. Jonas has since shared that when he saw Chopra enter the room he got down on one knee in front of the other partygoers and said to the Quantico star, "You're real. Where have you been all my life?"
May 2017
As things were beginning to heat up between the two, Ralph Lauren invited Jonas and Chopra to wear his designs to the 2017 Met Gala. The pair showed up to the event arm in arm, although Chopra said that they were only platonic during a Jimmy Kimmel Live! interview.
Before hitting the Met Gala, the pair grabbed drinks at the Carlyle Hotel a week before the big event. Chopra also invited Jonas to visit her at home. The evening ended with Jonas patting the actress on the back. “There was no kiss. There was nothing. She’s still upset about that…Your mom was in the house! I thought it was a respectful first night," Jonas said in a 2018 Vogue interview.
May 2018
The next year, relationship rumors were confirmed by a source that told Us Weekly, "They are dating and it's brand new. It's a good match and they are both interested in each other."
It then seemed that they went everywhere together. They attended Beauty and the Beast Live in Concert at the Hollywood Bowl, went to a Dodgers game, and were photographed together on a friend's boat.
In 2020, Chopra shared a throwback picture, the very first the duo ever took together, with the caption "2 years ago today we took our very first picture together. Every day since then you have brought me endless joy and happiness. I love you @nickjonas Thank you for making our life together so incredible. Here’s to many more date nights... ❤️😍"
June 2018
Fans noted that Jonas and Chopra had been liking each other's pictures on Instagram for months before they were "official." Then, in June 2018, they openly made some flirtatious comments on each other's pictures. Posting a picture of herself with some friends at In-N-Out, Jonas commented, "That smile ❤️." Chopra then said, "Who is cuter?" on a picture of Jonas with a koala bear at an Australian zoo.
Soon, the pair made some more serious moves. The singer and actress were spotted together at JFK airport for a trip where Chopra met Jonas' family. A few weeks later, she was his date to his cousin's wedding.
Jonas also got his turn to meet Chopra's family as the pair flew to India just a few weeks later. They solidified their public relationship status during the trip with Jonas posting a video of Chopra to his Instagram stories with the caption "Her 😍."
The actress then showed her affection when they were in Brazil for the VillaMix festival, where Jonas performed. Sharing a clip of him on stage, Chopra captioned it, "Him 😍."
July 2018
For Fourth of July weekend the couple were spotted on a bike ride in New York City with Jonas' brother, Joe, and his girlfriend, actress Sophie Turner.
The group reunited in London later in the month and rumors are sparked of the couple's relationship getting even more serious. Jonas and Chopra were seen with matching gold rings, but the engagement wasn't announced yet. That came later in the month during a special trip to Crete for Chopra's birthday. Jonas had shut down a Tiffany and Co. store in London to pick out the ring a few weeks prior and finally popped the question after midnight on her birthday. The actress was left speechless until Jonas slipped the diamond ring on her finger.
August 2018
In August, Jonas' family went to India to meet Chopra's. While there, her family threw the pair a formal engagement party. The couple confirmed the engagement on Instagram, posting matching pictures of themselves gazing into each other's eyes with Chopra's engagement ring on full display.
They also shared pictures from the engagement party. Chopra expressed that she wanted their engagement and wedding to follow Indidan tradition.
September 2018
The couple spent more time in public together following their engagement. They were seen at the U.S. Open with Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner and also attended Ralph Lauren's 50th anniversary show during New York Fashion Week. The designer dressed the couple again and even arranged a special photoshoot.
Then, on September 16 for Jonas' birthday, his fiancée posted a picture of her giving him a kiss on the cheeck with the caption, "Happy birthday baby. 💋❤️."
While in the U.S., Jonas and Chopra also spent some time with the singer's family, going on a vacation to Oklahoma.
October 2018
Back to Mumbai, India, Chopra shared a clip of Jonas playing soccer.
At the end of the month, Chopra was back in New York City for her bachelorette party. The event was held at Tiffany and Co.'s Blue Box Cafe and famous friends including Kelly Rippa and Lupita Nyong'o celebrated the bride-to-be.
November 2018
Bachelorette festivities continued into November, with Chopra sharing images from a weekend in Amsterdam with family and friends, including future sister-in-law Sophie Turner.
It was reported that the couple wanted to move their nuptials to the end of 2018. The couple and other members of Jonas' family traveled to India to celebrate Thanksgiving, further sparking rumors that the family might be in India for a wedding ceremony. During the visit, the couple attended a puja ceremony, which is a traditional spiritual event that is held before a major event.
December 2018
Chopra and Jonas get married on December 1, 2018. The wedding was held at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The couple had two ceremonies, one Christian and one Hindu, to honor each of their families' traditions. Ralph Lauren dressed the couple once again, creating a custom gown for the bride and suit for the groom. For the Hindu ceremony, Indian designer Sabyasachi created both of their looks.
Sharing a picture of the pre-wedding Mehendi ceremony in which the bride gets her hands and feet painted with the pigment, Chopra said, "One of the most special things that our relationship has given us is a merging of families who love and respect each other's faiths and cultures. And so planning our wedding with an amalgamation of both was so so amazing."
The pre-wedding festivities continued with the Sangeet (musical evening), where each family prepared performances of singing and dancing.
A few days after the wedding, the couple began sharing more photos from their glamorous nuptials.
By the end of December, the couple had three separate wedding receptions.
The newlyweds celebrated Christmas with their joined family, and Chopra changed her name on Instagram to Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
January 2019
The couple went on their honeymoon after the holiday festivities. Jonas reported planned the trip, surprising Chopra with a Caribbean getaway.
February 2019
Chopra explained the reason why she took Jonas' last name in an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. "I always wanted to add his name to mine because I feel like we're becoming family, and I'm a little traditional and old school like that," the actress said. "But I don't take away my identity. He gets added to who I am."
For Valentine's Day, the couple showed their love on Instagram.

The Jonas Brothers returned with Happiness Begins. In a song off the new album titled "I Believe," Nick sings about his love crooning: "Call me crazy / People saying that we move too fast / But I've been waiting, and for a reason / Ain’t no turning back / 'Cause you show me something I can't live without / I believe, I believe, I believe."
July 2019
In an interview with Elle UK, Chopra opens up about married life and what her new family means to her. In addition to gaining a husband, she was also welcomed into the Jonas Brothers' inner circle. "I’ve never had a sister, so it’s really nice to have Danielle and Sophie, and just inheriting the family by proxy," she said.
That month, the couple also attended Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner's second private wedding ceremony in the south of France. The first secret ceremony was in May 2019, when the couple got hitched in Las Vegas.

The couple announced that they welcomed their baby girl, Malti, in January via surrogate. They did not share any photos of their newborn till May 8, on Mother's Day, when Chopra posted this adorable photo of them with their daughter.

Celebrating Father's Day, the couple posted a photo of Nick Jonas holding up his daughter showing the both of them wearing matching shoes personalized with Malti's initials.
