Pete Davidson and Phoebe Dynevor Call It Quits
After five months together, including attending a Wimbledon match, the two have broken up.
Pete Davidson and Phoebe Dynevor have split after just five months together, reportedly because of their long-distance relationship and busy schedules.
“Pete and Phoebe’s romance was a real whirlwind and from the start, they were both totally committed,” a source told The Sun. “But as time has passed, it’s become increasingly obvious it is going to be difficult to make this work.”
The couple started dating in February, seen out and about in an English village, and the Saturday Night Live star subtlety confirmed the relationship by admitting he was dating his “celebrity crush.” But while Davidson is based in New York, Dynevor lives in England, and for the time being, the two are separated by the Atlantic Ocean. Arguably one of the most unexpected couples of 2021, Davidson, 27, is busy filming his upcoming rom-com Meet Cute with Kaley Cuoco, and Dynevor, 26, is in the UK filming the second season of Bridgerton.
“Their mates think they make a great couple but the distance has made it completely unworkable,” the source continued. “They had fun and will remain close but unless something drastic changes their relationship won’t recover.”
The two were last seen together with PDA on full display at Wimbledon in July, complete with coordinating outfits and matching “PD” necklaces representing their initials, but reportedly, they haven’t spent time together since. Dynevor even had this upcoming week off from filming, and apparently headed to Croatia with some friends instead of flying to the U.S. to visit Davidson. Of course, the flying restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic can’t help with holding up a long-distance relationship.
“It was wild while it lasted and they both really care for each other,” the source said. “But the distance has put a strain on them.” However, neither of the actors has confirmed the split yet.
While we don’t know much about the personal life of the breakout Bridgerton star, Davidson aims high when dating, as he has previously been with Ariana Grande, Kate Beckinsale, Kaia Gerber, and Margaret Qualley. Naturally, we’re dying to know if Dynevor has “thank u, next” on repeat.
