Quavo and Saweetie Reportedly Fought in an Elevator Months Before Split
The couple ended their relationship in early March 2021 after over two years together.
Following their tumultuous breakup early this month, a video of Quavo and Saweetie has surfaced that shows the couple engaging in a physical fight in the elevator of Saweetie's Los Angeles apartment building. In the video shared by TMZ, they appear to be fighting over an orange "Call of Duty" case. Before entering the elevator, the two are seen already taking swings at each other. However, after entering, their altercation over the case ends in Saweetie falling down. She stays on the ground and off-camera for much of the footage after this until they both exit.
At one point, the Migos member briefly looks up at the camera and says something to his then-girlfriend. The doors to the elevator open during their ride, and a person can be seen standing outside, however, they do not enter. When reaching their floor, Quavo holds the door open for the "Best Friend" rapper as she remains on the ground before pulling herself up by the handrailing and limping out. The incident reportedly took place in 2020.
The couple had been dating since 2018. Following their breakup, several accusations and rumors circulated online about the cause, so the "Tap In" artist took to Twitter to clear things up. She wrote, "I’m single. I’ve endured too much betrayal and hurt behind the scenes for a false narrative to be circulating that degrades my character. Presents don’t band aid scars and the love isn’t real when the intimacy is given to other women."
Many fans pointed out that the "Bad and Boujee" rapper had given Saweetie a Bentley back in November, which she shared on her Instagram.
In a follow-up, she tweeted, "I emotionally checked out a long time ago and have walked away with a deep sense of peace and freedom. Excited for this new chapter of elevation."
Quavo responded to the social media posts with his own take on the split. “I know you want to make this into a show so I’ll play my part just this one time,” he tweeted. “I don’t normally put my business out there, especially my personal life. I feel the need to address this so there are no false narratives.”
He continued, “I had love for you and disappointed you did all that. You are not the woman I thought you were. I wish you nothing but the best.”
