Former Palace Aide Samantha Cohen Claims Meghan Markle 'Bullied" Palace Staff
“Sam always made clear that it was like working for a couple of teenagers,” a source told the author of a bombshell book in 2022.
Just when the world tires of news about the Royal Family and the incessant drama and rumors surrounding them, another bombshell piece of news is broken, and this time it's from Meghan Markle's former royal aide, Samantha Cohen. Cohen has reportedly confirmed that she is one of the 10 individuals on the royal staff who were interviewed as a part of Buckingham Palace’s investigation into claims of the Duchess of Sussex's penchant for bullying.
Ahead of Meghan and Harry's now-infamous tell-all interview with Oprah, The New York Post released reports of bullying accusations that came from palace staff members. As per Page Six, staff members told the Times of London that the Duchess "reduced staffers to tears" during her stay at Kensington Palace. The report also claims that two senior members were allegedly "bullied" out of their jobs as well. In an effort to protect the remaining staff, Markle's communications assistant at the time, Jason Knauf, reported Markle for her treatment of staff.
“I am very concerned that the Duchess was able to bully two PAs out of the household in the past year. The treatment of X* was totally unacceptable,” read the complaint.
With Cohen now revealing that she was one of the staff members interviewed during the internal investigation, she did an exclusive interview with the Herald Sun detailing what went down.
“I was only supposed to stay for six months but stayed for 18 — we couldn’t find a replacement for me and when we did, we took them on tour to Africa with Harry and Meghan to show them the ropes but they left (quit) as well while in Africa,” Cohen told the Australian newspaper.
The internal investigation, which was funded by the late Queen Elizabeth II, ended in June 2022 and reportedly resulted in changes that can't be publicly disclosed.
Back in 2022, author Valentine Low wrote a bombshell book detailing the extent of Cohen's dislike for both Meghan and Harry's behavior with a source reportedly telling the author, “Sam always made clear that it was like working for a couple of teenagers."
The New York Post also details that Markle's legal team not only denied these claims but called them a “calculated smear campaign.”
