Happy 41st Birthday, Sienna Miller! During 2020, the British-American multi-hyphenate starred in a Sundance film, quarantined with her daughter, <a href="https://www.vanityfair.com/style/2020/09/sienna-miller-beauty-interview-la-mer-2020-election">cut her friends&rsquo; hair</a>, and even started work on a new Netflix series.&nbsp;While Miller spent much of the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/gen-z-y2k-millennial-90s-fashion-nostalgia">mid-aughts</a>&nbsp;as <a href="https://www.thedailybeast.com/sienna-miller-survived-tabloid-hell-now-shes-thriving">tabloid fodder</a>, her early work proves she always had what it took to become a star.
Miller got her start in the modeling industry, booking her first commercial at age 18. In 2003, she appeared in a <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/bruce-weber-is-accused-of-sexual-assault-ed27c1dc-2c23-4132-a9dd-7a1db9b35864">Bruce Weber</a>-shot Pirelli calendar and starred in two films the following year. In 2004, Vogue named Miller, then only 22 years old, &ldquo;girl of the year.&rdquo;&nbsp;Throughout her career, the multi-talented actress has also appeared in <a href="https://www.playbill.com/person/sienna-miller-vault-0000097842">Broadway</a> and <a href="https://www.londontheatre.co.uk/actor-profile/sienna-miller">West End</a> plays.
Though the famously-witty actress refuses to use social media, her&nbsp;large catalogue of work, along with many revealing, honest interviews, allow her to make her mark on both the film and fashion worlds. For her birthday, L&rsquo;OFFICIEL revisits key moments from&nbsp;Miller&rsquo;s early career.

The Pirelli Calendar has long been famous for its ability to make a model. In 2003, at just 21, Miller was shot for the calendar by famed fashion photographer Bruce Weber. It had been only three years since the star booked her first commercial at age 18, but she had already built enough recognition that she was asked to pose for the risqué publication, which had already featured Naomi Campbell, Gracie Carvalho, Helena Christensen, Cindy Crawford, Kate Moss, Christy Turlington, and more.

Miller may have only appeared somewhat briefly in 2004’s "Alfie," but her chaotic energy and beautiful long bangs helped her stand out nonetheless. Her knife-wielding portrayal of young, excitable party girl Nikki made for some of the film’s most memorable moments.  

That same year, a then-aged 22 Sienna Miller appeared alongside 007 himself in the crime drama “Layer Cake.” Miller plays the attractive and charming Tammy, who appears to act as a foil to Daniel Craig’s unnamed protagonist.

At age 24, Miller played a different It girl, Edie Sedgwick — a ‘60s socialite and Andy Warhol’s muse — for the film “Factory Girl.” On set the actress sported a pixie cut, embodying Sedgwick’s mod glamour. 

For the “Factory Girl” premiere, Miller wore a beaded shift dress that paid homage to the film’s 1960s setting. The gown’s dusty blush color complimented her now-famous golden blonde locks.

In 2007, Sienna and her sister Savannah co-founded Twenty8Twelve by S. Miller, a fashion line which was integral to the formation of the 2010s boho look. Six years later, the two amicably left the company, and it was renamed Twenty8Twelve. Miller gave birth to her daughter Marlowe that same year, and has since pursued more acting roles — including a starring role alongside the late Chadwick Boseman in 2019’s 21 Bridges. Savannah, on the other hand, has launched a solo fashion designing career with her eponymous bridal label.

At age 25, Miller was already a fixture on the film festival circuit. Pictured here at the Palm Springs Film Festival in 2007, the actress had already starred in a number of acclaimed films before she even hit her mid-20s.

The British-American actress frequently made headlines for her red carpet looks. For the 2007 BAFTAs, the star wore a tightly-fitted pale green gown with a sequined pattern and split trumpet sleeves. With the current resurgence of mid-2000s looks, it’s not hard to imagine current style stars wearing something similar.

In 2008, Miller starred alongside Kiera Knightley in “The Edge of Love,” a romantic film chronicling the ups and downs of two couples as the lines between friendships and romantic relationships blur. Critics agreed that Miller’s and Knightley’s performances essentially made the film, with "The Hollywood Reporter” witing that Miller’s performance proved “that she has everything it takes to be a major movie star.” The role even earned Miller a nomination for the BAFTA Rising Star Award.
