She's not just Gigi and Bella&rsquo;s sister&mdash;Alana Hadid is a designer, activist, and now, a runway model.&nbsp;

If you&rsquo;ve scrolled through the fashion TikTok or spotted her name in a recent runway recap, you might be wondering, who exactly is Alana Hadid? The creative designer and now model is the eldest Hadid sibling, and she&rsquo;s having a moment entirely her own. From launching her own fashion brand to making her runway debut at 40, Hadid is proof that personal style, creativity, and confidence only get better with time.

Born on July 27, 1985, in Washington, D.C., Alana Hadid is the daughter of Palestinian-American real estate developer Mohamed Hadid and his first wife, Mary Butler&mdash;making her the older half-sister of Gigi, Bella, and Anwar Hadid, and the full sister of Marielle Hadid.
While her younger siblings conquered the runways of Paris and Milan, Hadid quietly built her own creative path behind the scenes. Despite the family&rsquo;s global fame, she&rsquo;s described their bond as refreshingly normal, one that involves shopping trips, cooking sessions, and a group chat.
She recently married Ross Williams, an Emmy-winning TV producer, in an intimate backyard ceremony at her family home in Los Angeles on Oct. 18, 2025. She wore a vintage Vivienne Westwood gown paired with heirloom jewelry, including her grandmother&rsquo;s ring and a pair of amethyst earrings. Her sisters Gigi and Bella Hadid served as barefoot bridesmaids in coordinating olive-green dresses, joined by their sister Marielle and brother Anwar, who acted as &ldquo;male of honor.&rdquo; The couple also incorporated nods to Alana&rsquo;s Palestinian heritage, from the music to cocktails by Palestinian-American brands. Alana and Ross first met on a dating app and got engaged in 2024 near Big Sur.&nbsp;

Before stepping into the spotlight, Hadid made her mark in design. In 2017, she co-founded La Detresse with her best friend Emily Perlstein, a unisex streetwear label known for its distressed denim and edgy knitwear.
While younger sisters' wardrobes often revolve around runway couture, Hadid's fashion language leans toward androgynous staples, vintage denim, and statement layering.

In August 2023, Hadid walked her first-ever runway at Copenhagen Fashion Week, modeling for the Danish label Saks Potts&mdash;and yes, the fashion world took notice. Her walk reminded everyone that great style and fashion know-how have no age limit.
The debut was more than symbolic, as it marked her transition from creative director to front-row muse, joining her sisters on the modeling stage in her own time and in her own way.
Beyond fashion, Hadid serves as the creative director of Watermelon Pictures, a film and media collective focused on reclaiming and celebrating Palestinian stories. Through the company, she&rsquo;s using art and storytelling to amplify underrepresented voices and challenge stereotypes.
