Though she began her career on the stage in theatrical productions, over the course of the past few years, Buckley has built up a filmography that rivals some of the best in Hollywood history.&nbsp;
Buckley's current meteoric rise as a star began back in 2018, when she starred in&nbsp;Wild Rose. Since then, you've likely seen her in films including&nbsp;I'm Thinking of Ending Things,&nbsp;The Lost Daughter, Women Talking, and&nbsp;Wicked Little Letters. With regards to the smaller screen, she's been in TV series including&nbsp;Chernobyl&nbsp;and&nbsp;Fargo. And if you were lucky enough, you'd know her as Sally Bowles in the West End revival of&nbsp;Cabaret, where she starred opposite <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/men/eddie-redmayne-fatherhood-acting-career-jackal-interview" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Eddie Redmayne</a>.&nbsp;
Buckley's upcoming projects include a lead in Chlo&eacute; Zhao's critically favored film, Hamnet, and the titular role in <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/maggie-gyllenhaal-peter-sarsgaard-j-crew-personal-style" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Maggie Gyllenhaal</a>'s&nbsp;The Bride, inspired by Mary Shelley's classic gothic novel, Frankenstein.
In Hamnet, Buckley stars across <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/gracie-abrams-paul-mescal-dating-glastonbury-festival-2025" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Paul Mescal</a> as she embodies Agnes Shakespeare, the famous playwright's wife, who is overcome with grief after losing her son at a young age. After initial screenings and festival premieres, Buckley's performance has been lauded by critics as complex and emotionally devastating. Hamnet is slated for a wide theatrical release later this year, beginning on Dec. 12, 2025.&nbsp;
For&nbsp;The Bride,&nbsp;Buckley reunites with director Maggie Gyllenhaal and takes on the role of Frankenstein's bride herself, opposite Christian Bale, who plays Victor Frankenstein's Monster. Though the 1935 version of the tale features little of the titular character herself, Gyllenhaal's film explores the character in full, with her own twists and turns added, of course. At CinemaCon, earlier in 2025, audiences saw a first look at the film, followed by commentary from Gyllenhaal and Buckley, who described her character as "a bit naughty." Buckley has become known for her portrayals of rebellious, free-spirited women, and Gyllenhaal's dark, punky film appears to be her next captivating iteration of the role type.&nbsp;

Though the actress tends to keep most details of her private life under wraps, there are a few select things she's shared with the public over the past few years&mdash;tales of late-night Guinness and grilled cheese served at her whimsical Norfolk wedding included.&nbsp;
Buckley married her husband, whom she only identifies as Freddie to the public, in mid-2023. The pair were introduced via a mutual friend, music producer Marc Robinson, and went on a blind date. Buckley spoke publicly about the relationship for the first time in 2021 in an interview with <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2021/mar/20/jessie-buckley-on-covid-filming-worlds-greatest-love-scene-and-we-couldnt-touch" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Guardian</a>, but said that she had been seeing him 'for a while' by that point. Buckley and her husband split their time between London and Norfolk, where they own property. Per Buckley, her husband recently went back to university to study topics surrounding mental health.&nbsp;
Keeping consistent with her sharp sense of humor and no-frills attitude, the Irish actress announced back in April of 2025 that the couple was expecting their first child by turning up on the red carpet in a tightly-fitted dress&mdash;letting the baby bump speak for itself.&nbsp;
Prior to meeting her current husband, Buckley dated British actor James Norton for two years, between 2015 and 2017, after they met on the set of&nbsp;War and Peace&nbsp;(2016).&nbsp;
