Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid Split After Yolanda Hadid Accuses Him of Striking Her

Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have broken up after six years together, but unfortunately, it seems that a lot of drama has taken place behind the breakup after Hadid's mom Yolanda accused the former One Direction singer of having "struck" her.

As reported by People, the duo decided to end their relationship at least a month ago and focus on the growth and education of their 1-year-old daughter Khai. 

"They're not together now. They're both good parents. They're co-parents. Yolanda is, of course, very protective of Gigi. She wants the best for her daughter and grandson," said a source close to the family. The supermodel's rep also released a statement saying, "Gigi is exclusively focused on the best for Khai. She asks for privacy during that time." 

On Thursday, TMZ reported that the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum alleged that she and Malik had a fight and accused him of physical aggression. However, shortly after, Malik shared a statement denying the accusation and asking for privacy at this point.

“I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid. For the sake of my daughter I decline to give any further details," the singer wrote in a social media statement.

“As you all know I am a private person and I very much want to create a safe and private place for my daughter to grow up in. A place where private family matters aren’t thrown on the world stage for all to poke and pick apart,” he continued.

“In an effort to protect that space for her, I agreed to not contest claims arising from an argument I had with a family member of my partner’s who entered our home while my partner was away several weeks ago.”

The couple has been off-and-on since the beginning of their relationship in 2015. They separated for the first time, publicly, in 2018, but quietly resumed dating in late 2019. In 2020, the pair announced that they were expecting their first child, Khai, who was born in September of that year.
