Celebrating All the Standard, East Village Has to Offer
On the evening of Wednesday, March 13, inside the eccentric meets minimal The Standard, East Village, several of New York’s most notable guests celebrated the recent happenings at the hotel. The event was hosted by Angela Dimayuga, the creative director of food and culture at the Standard.
A sit-down dinner was held at Narcissa, a chic farm-to-table restaurant. Intimate parties sat amongst plush blue and white ombré pillows around oak square tables decorated with votives. Chef Max Blachman-Gentile served a four-course meal atop crisp white plates accented with burnt orange napkins. Some of the delectable cuisine options were hen of the woods, a chicken dish with green tahini, a dash of lemon preserves and cold-pressed sesame oil or the dry aged ribeye accompanied with heirloom celery salsa verde and blistered snap peas.
After dinner, guests were invited to the hotel’s most recent addition, NO BAR for an after-party. DJs Skype Williams and HON2OU spun a killer playlist while people mingled and danced. Some of the more notable attendees include fashion designer, Maria Cornejo, Canadian artist Chloe Wise, and actor Kevin Carrigan. Guests were served custom cocktails such as the oh-so-refreshing Fresh Cut made with Mezcal tequila, celery, poblano peppers, lime, and soda.
The event concluded with one of The Standard’s traditions: a seductive and fabulous drag show. Around two in the morning, as the night dwindled, close guests posed for photographs with old and new friends—exiting into the night with newfound energy and the promise that more exciting things were to come at The Standard, East Village by West Dakota.
