Hilary Swank Just Had Her Dream Wedding

Dressed in Elie Saab Couture and Dior, the actress and philanthropist’s marriage to Philip Schneider was a veritable woodland fairytale.

Yet another Hollywood celeb said “yes” this year. This time, it was Hilary Swank who married partner, Philip Schneider, at California’s Redwoods National Park last weekend. Since officializing their engagement in the Colorado mountains in 2016, Swank has made it clear that she would have a bucolic wedding—preferably near home so that her father (who recently underwent a lung transplant) could accompany her to the altar. Thus,  Redwoods was the ideal choice.

Attendees (including Emmy Rossum and Maid of Honor, Mariska Hargitay) enjoyed a dreamy ceremony underneath centuries-old trees and the actress, herself, certainly played the part in an angelic Elie Saab dress made of 25 years of lace Chantilly, chiffon, organza and embroidered floral details. It took seven couturiers 150 hours to make that dress and, according to the photos, the result was beautiful.

The reception took place in a rustic barn made charmingly warm by long communal tables, candelabras, and chandeliers. Shortly after cutting their vegan and gluten-free chocolate cake, the newlyweds made their way to the dance floor where they performed a perfectly choreographed tap-dancing number a la Fred Astaire. For this surprise show, the bride chose a Dior dress designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri and Louboutin shoes.
