Reformation's Shrimps Collaboration Has All the Holiday Knitwear You Need
The new collaboration brings playful, feminine holiday knitwear to life in luxuriously soft cashmere. Plus, Shrimps founder Hannah Weiland reveals her tips for hosting.
Reformation is ready for the changing seasons.
The brand announced its latest collaborative collection on Tuesday with U.K.-based fashion label Shrimps. The joint project offers a slew of novelty knitwear (including for dogs), which is just in time for the holidays. After all, this is a part of what inspired the pieces for Shrimps founder Hannah Weiland, who also cites "the act and joy of playing games" as having an influence. Between their ribbon and lace detailing, the new pieces in the drop embody a feeling of playfulness, coziness, and femininity.
"A great jumper is the best way to feel special whilst also being unbelievably comfortable and cozy," Weiland says over email, hinting at why sweaters are so central to the collaborative collection. Its holiday sweaters, made of luxurious fabrics, are perfect for the season's parties. "I love how quickly a beautiful knit can make your outfit feel interesting. Having two young children, I often get dressed in a rush in the mornings and a statement knit is the quickest way for me to feel festive and like myself."
Puppies doing tricks, embroidery, and vintage playing cards were plastered all over her moodboard for this one, she tells L'OFFICIEL. Items range from $98 for a set of wool coasters to $348 for a diamond pattern cashmere turtleneck.
Ahead of the holiday season, the British label's designer is planning on hosting plenty more parties with the philosophy that "more is more!"
"For our launch dinner in London, we leaned into the fun and games theme of the collection and pulled it through in every detail—custom decks of cards at each setting, embroidered playing cards as place cards, chocolate dominoes as a sweet treat, game-themed signature cocktails, pups modeling the doggy sweater from the collection, and of course lots of actual games on hand for guests to entertain themselves," Weiland says, advocating for a maximalist approach.
The new items are available to shop on Reformation's website.
