L&rsquo;OFFICIEL: What inspired your foray into interior design and furniture curation?&nbsp;
Jessie Andrews: I&rsquo;ve always been aware of how space made me feel. As I got older I realized it wasn&rsquo;t the size of the room or how bright it was but how the architecture, furniture, lighting, and textures come together to tell a story of someone&rsquo;s journey in putting it all together and how they want to make you feel. I was inspired by spaces that made me observe deeper, I wanted to be able to tell a story too.&nbsp;
L&rsquo;O: Given your long-standing relationship with the Nordic Knots team, what were you most excited about going into this collaboration and the design process behind it?&nbsp;
JA: The team is truly incredible and the product is unbeatable. I was excited to work together and do something different than I would on my own. Collaborations are a chance to have a meeting of the minds, to find a common ground of style. I love letting everyday experiences influence design whether it&rsquo;s aesthetically or functionally, we were able to do just that.&nbsp; &nbsp;
L&rsquo;O: Besides acting as a grounding piece in any living space, what makes rugs such an important part of interior design?&nbsp;
JA: Rugs have the power to bounce light or absorb it, they can be loud and steal the attention or just be an accessory to the main event. Without a rug, a space feels incomplete to me.&nbsp;
L&rsquo;O: When it comes to rugs, do you tend to gravitate towards more stand-out pieces or low-key styles?&nbsp;
JA: It really depends on the architecture and design, but naturally I&rsquo;m drawn to muted colors with texture vs patterns.&nbsp;&nbsp;

L&rsquo;O: Has your background in fashion/modeling informed your journey into interior design and furniture?&nbsp;
JA: I&rsquo;ve been able to experience so many beautiful spaces, stores, hotels, and restaurants as well as set design for events and runway show design over the years working in fashion that my spectrum of experienced design is quite broad.&nbsp;
L&rsquo;O: What draws you towards mid-century modern style specifically?&nbsp;
JA: The thing I love most about Mid-century modern design is the use of nature, incorporating trees, rocks, landscapes, and skylights. The way natural light slips into its functionality. It&rsquo;s simple yet elegant.&nbsp;
L&rsquo;O: Are there any design styles you&rsquo;d like to experiment with in future collections/collaborations/spaces?&nbsp;
JA: We&rsquo;re seeing this shift from clean wabi-sabi spaces with marble and plaster walls into low lighting, wood-paneled rooms, and deep color tones which I love. I&rsquo;m excited to design in a new space and play with my version of this switch.&nbsp;

L&rsquo;O: How has your experience building Tase Gallery shaped you as an entrepreneur?&nbsp;
JA: Building Tase from an idea to support artists and build community into a brand that can create and collaborate to storytell has been a dream. It has taught me to evolve and let experiences guide me to the next chapter.&nbsp;&nbsp;
L&rsquo;O: How did you train your eye for interior design and furniture curation?&nbsp;
JA: I believe it&rsquo;s something that comes naturally.&nbsp;
L&rsquo;O: What&rsquo;s the most difficult part of selecting pieces for display/for retail?&nbsp;
JA: I don&rsquo;t find it difficult to select because it&rsquo;s only about choosing what&rsquo;s right for right now. I can&rsquo;t be married to one piece or style, I have to let the choice advance or it will become stale and easy to replicate.&nbsp;
L&rsquo;O: What&rsquo;s your all-time favorite piece that has come through Tase Gallery?&nbsp;
JA: I&rsquo;m obsessed with our Dott dinner table, it&rsquo;s the perfect size and shape for sharing an intimate meal.&nbsp;
