Jill Biden Unveils 2021 White House Christmas Decorations
Jill Biden is getting into the holiday spirit.
Jill Biden has just unveiled the decorations for the White House Christmas 2021, a project she has been striving for in recent weeks. With the help of over 100 volunteers, the First Lady filled the halls of the venue with 41 Christmas trees, 25 wreaths, 1,800 meters of ribbon, more than 300 candles, 10,000 ornaments, and 78,750 lights.
But the charm was due to the personal touch that Jill wanted to add, making her husband's workplace, Joe Biden, more familiar. For that, she included stocking hanging from the fireplace with the names of the couple's grandchildren, as well as a room dedicated to the family's gifts.
Jill's theme for 2021 was "Gifts From the Heart." In an emotional speech earlier this week, she said, "We all have our own traditions that make holidays special—whether it's decorating the tree together or watching your favorite Christmas movie; the annual family photo by the fireplace; or using that faded, butter-stained recipe that reminds you of yours. grandmother when you were just a child."
She then went on to say, "My mom used to put fresh candles and flowers that she found outside - never store-bought. This made every dinner feel special, especially on holidays. We weren't just sharing a meal, we were sharing ours lives - we were feeding our spirits. And every year, as I lit candles and arranged the flowers just right, I remember her smile in the firelight. I remember how she turned around our table in a sacred circle of love, and I hope I can give my family the same feeling."
