Kathy and Nicky Hilton Want To Sell You Rugs
The mother-daughter duo launched a new home collection with Ruggable, marking the beginning of a Hilton foray into the world of interior design
Mother and daughter Kathy and Nicky Hilton share more than just genes. Both women have an avowed passion for interior design and decorating their lavish homes, so naturally, the pair teamed up with Ruggable, a new-age retailer in the business of machine-washable, budget-friendly rugs. Nicky Hilton discovered the company after a relative fawned over the ease and peace of mind that comes with adding a machine-washable rug to any living space. “I’ve never heard of anything like that,” Nicky Hilton told WWD in an interview. “I have an antique rug in my living room, and, you know, I have three pets, three young children… needless to say, that’s had lots of wear and tear. And I was going to bring it in to get cleaned… the cleaning of the rug was more expensive than the rug,” Nicky Hilton revealed.
Although high-end, luxury rugs are a dream decor item in any budding interior designer's home, the reality is, maintenance, cleaning, and life can get in the way, which is where Ruggable comes in. The brand has countless ultra-chic designs and collaborations—of which the Ruggable x Hilton is the latest—that add a touch of elegance to any room and offer fuss-free cleaning. For the Hiltons, who are passionate about hosting guests and putting on lavish parties, the collaboration was a natural fit.
“We love entertaining. So tabletop, definitely. And the home in general… Linens. Tabletop is definitely something that we both have a passion for,” Nicky Hilton told WWD. “It’s really been our dream,” added Kathy Hilton. “We always are going back and forth sharing, you know, DMs about a beautiful china or beautiful table or outdoor furniture, whatever it has to do with the home. We’re always on the same page,” Kathy Hilton said, speaking about her daughter.
The Hilton x Ruggable capsule collection, which launched on the Ruggable site on June 4, features designs inspired by the quintessential, elegant Hilton Americana style, which meshes perfectly into the homes of Kathy and Nicky Hilton, and allows fans a prime opportunity to add a touch of the socialites' top-tier tastes into their own living spaces. The capsule collection is also inspired by the many homes that the Hiltons have resided in over the years, including the iconic Waldorf Astoria New York, the Hiltons Bel Air, and the Hiltons Brooklawn, making it a truly personal collaboration for the mother-daughter pair.
