<p><a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/travel-living/if-you-re-traveling-to-doha-do-it-right" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Doha</a> is now home to one of the world's most prestigious (and highly anticipated) art world events: Art Basel.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Since it first opened in 1970, Art Basel has expanded its offerings with an array of new fairs across the world, including its most recent locations in Hong Kong&mdash;opened in 2013&mdash;and now, Qatar.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Running from Feb. 5 to Feb 7, the three-day-long fair is a celebration of innovative design vision and the enriching communities artists across the world have built.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Unlike other editions of the fair, Art Basel Qatar will not follow the booth format. Instead, the fair will take place in an open floorplan, and will be guided by solo presentations by galleries and events. The very first iteration of Art Basel Qatar explores the theme 'Becoming,' which invites viewers, buyers, and artists the opportunity to explore the societal systems that shape how we move through life and interact with one another.&nbsp;</p>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">M7 Lobby&nbsp;</h3>

<p>If you're seeking a striking, large-scale sculptural experience, look for Nour Jaouda's special exhibition in the M7 lobby. "A House Between Two Houses" explores the connection between physical space and memory and imagination, as seen in a "rest house" structure that comes to life through massive steel beams, architectural illustrations, and hanging textile pieces.&nbsp;</p>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">Al Markhiya Gallery</h3>

<p class="vc_custom_heading vc_do_custom_heading">For Art Basel Qatar's inaugural event, Al Markhiya Gallery presents a solo exhibition by <span>Bouthayna Al Muftah. The experiential installation takes on the form of a living archive, blending the artist's personal memories with collective cultural history. The traditional Qatari throbe, natural textiles, and ceramic jewelry are worked together, inviting the viewer to ponder both the thematic implications of each chosen object in the context of the larger Art Basel Qatar 'Becoming' theme.&nbsp;</span></p>
