Molteni&C Presents ‘Molteni Mondo. An Italian Design Story’ in New York

Molteni&C, a leading Italian furniture design company for 90 years, has officially launched its book, Molteni MondoAn Italian Design Story, a monograph celebrating the company's 90 years of innovation and excellence in Italian design.

The official launch of the book took place on September 24 at Rizzoli Bookstore in New York with a very special tie to L'OFFICIEL. With a panel including Giulia Molteni, Chief Marketing Officer of Molteni Group, Spencer Bailey and Co-founder of The Slowdown, L'OFFICIEL's very own Global Chief Revenue Officer Anthony Cenname moderated the discussion about the book and the company's dedication to craftsmanship.

The discussion focused on how Molteni Mondo commemorates nine decades of design excellence, exploring the company's relationships with architects and designers, as well as its iconic projects and innovations. Founded in 1934 by Angelo Molteni in Giussano, Molteni&C has grown into a leader in high-end furniture, and the monograph highlights its role in shaping modern design through cutting-edge craftsmanship and its commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.

The monograph encapsulates the essence of “Made in Italy,” offering a comprehensive look at the significant prototypes, collections, and projects that have defined Molteni&C’s enduring legacy. With a foreword by Spencer Bailey, an introduction by Jean Nouvel, and a postscript by Jacques Herzog, the book serves as a definitive guide to Molteni’s journey from its humble beginnings to its current status as a global industrial leader in design.

As Molteni Mondo makes its way around the world, this celebration of craftsmanship and design excellence is a testament to Molteni&C’s enduring influence in the world of high-end furniture and its vision for the future—one that is firmly rooted in innovation, sustainability, and an unwavering commitment to quality.
