Less structured than a traditional bob, the playful yet romantic butterfly version of this haircut features <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/beauty/medium-length-hairstyles-to-copy-this-summer-haircut" target="_blank" rel="noopener">heavy layers</a> with shorter pieces framing the face and the crown of the head. The name "butterfly" bob comes from these shorter layers which resemble butterfly wings.&nbsp;

The newest It girl, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/jenna-ortega-facts-wednesday-addams-actress" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jenna Ortega</a>, sported something similar to the butterfly bob. Known for her signature <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/beauty/wolf-cut-hair-mullet-tiktok-trend-gen-z" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wolf cut</a>, the young star's hair has grown out into a bob that resembles the layered look. With short pieces at the top and longer layers towards the bottom, Ortega's version of the butterfly bob has more structure than Zendaya's.&nbsp;

Then there's the queen of the bob cut, Hailey Bieber. Though Bieber is partial to her signature blunt bob, she switched it up for her latest FILA campaign, where she sported the butterfly cut.&nbsp;

Bieber also donned a voluminous butterfly bob for a recent Victoria's Secret ad. Is it her new favorite hairstyle? We certainly hope she styles her hair this way more often!
