More than 20 years after her passing, Jacqueline Kennedy-Onassis’ iconic legacy in the realms of philanthropy, historical preservation and fashion continue to inspire many across the globe. Here are 10 lessons  that she has taught us about style and beauty.

Remember that lipstick can be an accessory.

Despite preferring the more minimalist makeup look, Jackie always matched her lipstick to her outfit.

Wrap your hair with a silk scarf while sleeping.

According to her makeup artist in New York, Peter Lamas, she always slept with a silk pillowcase or an elegant silk scarf in her hair to avoid frizz.

Wash your face every day.

Jackie opted for soaps rich in minerals and her favorite was Erno Laszlo's Sea Mud Soap. Rich in calcium, potassium and magnesium, it exfoliates without taking off the natural layers of skin.

Use a single, signature perfume so everyone can recognize you by smell.

Jackie's pick? Lovely Patchouli 55 by House of Krigler.

Never underestimate a good eyebrow.

Long before the Brooke Shields and the Cara Delevingnes of the wold, Jackie Kennedy knew how to  pull off statement eyebrows. Her secret? Simple: she drew and filled them in with an eyebrow pencil.

Don't try too hard. Keep it casual but never sloppy.

Even Jackie's perfectly polished looks had a touch of comfort and 'lightness.' She achieved this through tricks like a scarf around her head on those bad hair days, or big sunglasses to disguise the days when she had a little less rest.

Invest in face creams.

Despite her smoking habit, Jackie aged gracefully trusting her skin in Erno Laszlo's Phormula 3-9 Repair cream.

Embrace facial oils.

The oil + cream combo was the recipe for the First Lady's ever-moisturized skin.

Use product on the ends of your hair.

When we think of Jackie Kennedy-O., we can't help but think of her ever-perfect hair. Her coiffure was the result of many, many brushes, dryers and styling tools and, consequently, she had to find a way to minimize the damage. Peter Lamas has revealed that she used lavender oil at the tips of her hair.

Less is more!

To maintain perfectly unblemished-looking skin, the First Lady used one product: Elizabeth Arden's Flawless Finish base. With its moisturizing powers, light coverage and a peach effect, it was near impossible to notice that she was wearing anything at all.
