After testing Rhode&rsquo;s new eye masks for two weeks, I can officially say my faith in under-eye patches is restored.

I&rsquo;m not the biggest believer in <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/beauty/logo-eye-patches-skincare-rhode-chanel-dior-eye-mask">eye masks</a>. Don&rsquo;t get me wrong: I don&rsquo;t think they&rsquo;re completely ineffective. I&rsquo;ve seen the wonders they do for people who struggle with <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/beauty/how-to-give-yourself-a-lymphatic-drainage-massage-at-home">puffiness</a> and discoloration. But as someone whose dark under-eyes are largely genetic&mdash;albeit worsened by stress and sleep deprivation&mdash;under-eye patches have never quite been life-changing.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Sure, the better ones I&rsquo;ve tried make a visible difference when it comes to <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/beauty/best-makeup-brushes-2025-kylie-cosmetics-makeup-by-mario-rare-beauty">makeup application</a>. Nothing beats that post-eye-mask, seamless concealer blend. Still, few have ever truly brightened my under-eyes, even with consistent use. I&rsquo;ve accepted that my fate in that department is sealed&mdash;unless, of course, some groundbreaking <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/beauty/most-expensive-beauty-procedures-2025-kris-jenner-facelift">beauty innovation</a> comes along that can actually erase genetically dark circles.&nbsp;
And truthfully, I find under-eye patches far too overstimulating. The sheer thought of having a slippery patch so close to my waterline makes me uneasy. It&rsquo;s the same reason I haven&rsquo;t gone back to lash extensions despite my naturally short lashes. Add in my oil-prone under-eyes, and most patches start sliding around before the 10-minute mark. So when <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/beauty/rhode-lip-tint-jelly-bean-salty-tan-lip-balm-strawberry-glaze-hailey-bieber">Rhode Skin</a> announced its take on eye masks, I had my doubts. As someone who genuinely loves the brand&rsquo;s lineup of minimalist, results-driven skincare staples, I thought, &ldquo;Here it is, the product I&rsquo;m finally going to hate.&rdquo;
Naturally, I had to give it a shot: partly out of curiosity, partly because it&rsquo;s my job, and partly because I just couldn&rsquo;t resist seeing what <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/selena-gomez-hailey-bieber-drama-timeline">Hailey Bieber</a> had in store. After two weeks of use, though, I can officially say: the day I dislike a Rhode launch still hasn&rsquo;t come.

One thing I appreciate most about Rhode&rsquo;s new eye masks is how comfortable they are on my eczema-prone skin. My under-eye area usually itches or becomes easily irritated by anything applied directly, which is why, other than my general discomfort with eye patches, I avoid most of them (it's also why I&rsquo;m extra picky with color correctors, concealers, and powders). Fortunately, that hasn&rsquo;t been the case with the Peptide Eye Prep.

After just one use, I noticed a dramatic difference. My under-eyes looked so much smoother, almost glassy, with a refreshed, glowy finish that made me look instantly more awake. Of course, they didn&rsquo;t immediately leave my under-eyes brighter or less dark. Still, I was most surprised to see the level of smoothness it delivered. It&rsquo;s certainly unlike anything I&rsquo;ve experienced with other eye masks&mdash;it almost mimics the effect of layering oil and moisturizer to fake glass skin. Even the pores and texture around my under-eye area appeared more refined, with a slight tightening effect that made everything look subtly lifted.
At first, I noticed the patches didn&rsquo;t fully adhere to my skin. They stayed in place but lacked the super-sticky grip that some eye masks have, which was likely because I&rsquo;d applied face oil beforehand. When I tried them again without any oil, they sat much better and didn&rsquo;t slip, although they still didn&rsquo;t feel suctioned to the skin. Since I tend to multitask throughout my routine, I often worried they would slide off, but that was never the case. That said, I actually grew to appreciate the non-grippy feel because it made them gentler and much less suffocating than many eye masks. My only minor gripe is the slight folding and air gaps that sometimes appear toward the center, something I&rsquo;ve also noticed in influencer photos and even Rhode&rsquo;s own social media posts.
After a week (about three uses), my under-eyes looked noticeably more refreshed and less red, and my already creamy concealer glided on much more easily&mdash;something I didn&rsquo;t realize I was missing until now. And while I&rsquo;ve never been a believer in eye masks, this one has genuinely been the most effective I&rsquo;ve tried for creating that smooth, awake look. After two weeks (six uses), my under-eyes didn&rsquo;t look significantly brighter (again, genetics and all), but they did appear more hydrated, plump, and well-rested overall.

At $26 for six pairs, Rhode&rsquo;s Peptide Eye Preps are a solid addition to the brand&rsquo;s lineup. They&rsquo;re easily the most effective eye masks I&rsquo;ve tried, especially considering how many underwhelming (and often quadruple-the-price) options are out there.
As someone who tends to get overstimulated by eye patches, I don&rsquo;t see them becoming a staple in my daily routine; using eye masks at all two or three times a week still feels like a chore. Still, the refreshed, well-rested look they give me after each use is hard to ignore. They&rsquo;ve officially earned a spot in my rotation for nights out, events, or mornings after less-than-ideal sleep.
All in all, Rhode continues to prove that great skincare doesn&rsquo;t need to be complicated or cost a fortune. The Peptide Eye Preps are yet another example of why the brand&rsquo;s thoughtful, pared-back approach to beauty resonates so strongly&mdash;and why its products keep flying off the shelves.
